Corporate Event Photography: On-Location in Uluwatu with The Piddington Society

Jude Quinlan

One of the most rewarding parts of the job is being invited to work on location at unique destinations. And that was exactly what The Piddington Society allowed me to do! The last weekend in May saw me packing up my equipment and boarding a plane to the tropical island of Bali.

This was my second year attending this annual lawyer’s conference, filled with corporate presentations, cocktails, lively chatter and camera clicks. Keep reading below to learn about my corporate event services and personal approach to the conference.

2025 Piddington Society Conference Wrap Up

As hundreds of Perth’s top legal minds gathered in the tropical surrounds of Uluwatu, Bali for the weekend, my camera and I were there to capture every moment. I worked closely with the team to ensure seamless coverage over two jam-packed days. These days were spent snapping, filming and live-editing footage highlights, allowing The Piddington Society’s team to post and share content immediately.

The conference was also designed for attendees to relax, with cocktail wind-downs, dinner events and even karaoke taking place in the evenings. Part of my offering involved capturing all the fun, too. My approach always involves getting amongst the action and getting to know the people I’m surrounded by. During every social event, I chatted to everyone to capture laidback moments together. There are no stiff smiles or stilted side hugs on my watch! Instead, I was able to provide the client with albums full of authentic moments.

Why hire a professional event photographer/videographer?

While smartphone snaps and short videos have their place, there’s no substitute for professional event content. Benefits include:

  • Professional photos in real time: Live editing was integral to my role throughout the conference. As leaders in the profession gave informative keynote speeches, I would edit two to four hero images per speaker. This resulted in high resolution corporate photography that was shared immediately across The Piddington Society’s socials.

  • Receive daily edited albums: After each busy day, I sat by the hotel pool (cheeky Bintang in hand) and edited the day’s content. The end result? Large collections of photo and video content from each speaker, plus shots of attendees interacting, mingling and listening.

  • Receive high resolution video footage: In addition to photos, I provide video content upon request. During this conference, I came equipped with my brand new DJI Osmo Pocket 3 camera, which I used to capture 4K video and photos simultaneously.

  • Discrete style during presentations: Much of the weekend took place in large conference rooms to a crowd. I came equipped with a long lens (150-500 mm) to get close-up, high resolution shots without distracting from the speakers.

  • A personal approach: For me, shooting corporate events is about capturing the buzz during welcome drinks, the energy of the speakers, and all the little interactions between those in attendance. It’s this type of content that’s ideal for marketing, internal recaps, client newsletters and annual reports (just to name a few uses).
